Job Title : Senior Java Backend Lead

Location : Berkeley Heights, NJ / Omaha, NE

Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Java Backend Lead to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using Java and Spring Boot .
\n
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
\n
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and efficient code.
\n
• Work with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle .
\n
• Implement business logic, data validation, error handling, and security.
\n
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues.
\n
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
\n
• Participate in code reviews and follow coding and development standards.
\n
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
\n
• Work with Git and follow Agile/Scrum development practices.
\n
• Contribute to system design, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
\n
• Monitor and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
\n

Required Skills

\n
• Strong proficiency in Core Java .
\n
• Good knowledge of Java 8+ , including Collections, Streams, Lambda expressions, Exception Handling, and Multithreading.
\n
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA .
\n
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture .
\n
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases .
\n
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA .
\n
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket .
\n
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
\n
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
\n
